Glass Railing Fittings in Bangalore: What to Source and Where

A frameless glass railing looks simple, but it is a system of small parts that must match in grade, finish and load rating. Here is the full list — and how to source it in Bangalore without ending up with mismatched tones.

The core fittings

  • Spigots — the load-bearing posts that clamp the glass base. Core-drill or base-plate mount.
  • Glass clamps — hold glass against a post or wall; round or square bodies.
  • D-brackets — side-mounted clamps for glass-to-post connections.
  • Standoff / point fittings — hold glass away from a wall or face; sleek modern look.
  • Spider fittings — 1 to 4 arm fittings for large glass facades.
  • Handrail & brackets — top rail plus wall/post brackets and end caps.

Buy them as a matched set

The most common mistake is buying spigots from one shop and brackets from another. Slight differences in polish or PVD tone are obvious once installed. Source everything together in the same grade and finish.

Grade for Bangalore conditions

SS 304 is right for most indoor and covered outdoor railings here. Move to SS 316 for pool-side fittings or heavy chlorine/salt exposure. Full grade comparison here.

Finish options

Mirror polish, brushed satin, and PVD in gold, rose gold and black. Pick the finish before ordering so every part matches. More on PVD finishes.

Sourcing checklist

  • Confirm glass thickness each fitting accepts (10mm / 12mm / 15mm)
  • Confirm mounting type your structure allows
  • Order 5–10% spare fittings for breakage and future service
  • Ask for the grade certificate on structural railings
