Frameless Glass Railing Cost in Bangalore: What Drives the Price

Two quotes for "frameless glass railing" can differ enormously — and usually for good reasons. Here is what actually drives the price so you can compare fairly.

1. Glass type and thickness

The single biggest cost factor. 12mm toughened is standard; toughened-laminated (13.52mm) costs more but is the safer choice for elevated balconies. Thicker glass for long spans costs more again. Thickness guide.

2. Hardware grade

SS 316 spigots cost noticeably more than 304 — and more than 202. A suspiciously cheap quote is often quoting a lower grade. Always compare grade-for-grade.

3. Finish

Mirror and satin are baseline. PVD gold, rose gold or black adds cost per fitting — worth it visually, but budget for it.

4. Number of spigots

Spigot spacing depends on panel size and wind load. Larger panels and exposed locations need more fittings — more hardware, more cost.

5. Mounting method

Core-drilling into the slab needs the right structure and adds labour. Base-plate mounting is often quicker and cheaper to install.

6. Site conditions

Height, access, and whether the structure is ready all affect installation cost. Retrofits usually cost more than new work.

Where you can save

• Base-plate instead of core-drill where the design allows
• Satin instead of PVD — timeless and cheaper
• Buying hardware as a set from one supplier instead of piecemeal
• Accurate measurements — remeasuring and recutting glass is expensive

Where you must not save

• Glass safety — use toughened-laminated on elevated balconies
• Hardware grade — 202 spigots outdoors will fail
• Spigot count — fewer fittings than the design calls for is a safety risk
